Social dances are a chance for club members to practice their dance moves and for dancers from the community to socialize with dancers from the university. They are completely free and open to all and are a great opportunity to get a taste for dancing and meet new people. We teach beginner lessons where newer dancers can learn something new and more experienced dancers can brush up on their skills and even learn a different role than they usually dance. There is no dress code but some dances have a theme that you may want to dress for.
Please see our Google Calendar. We also regularly announce our dance socials on our Instagram (@bdc.gt) , GT Engage Page, and Discord channel!
Starred dances are introductions to the club. These are free for anyone to attend and focus more on introducing attendees to what ballroom dance is and what the Ballroom Dance Club at Georgia Tech has to offer them. There will still be opportunities for social dancing at the end, but these will generally be a little shorter than at a typical dance.
Dances marked with a dagger are fundraisers. Tickets are more expensive to help the club raise money for specific events. Send us an email to find out more about what we're fundraising for.
